ABOUT

HEARTBEAT is a song and music picture from the VH1 World Alert film, MAKOCE WAKAN/SACRED EARTH. With revolution in the air, HEARTBEAT puts a question to the world, Are you too cool to care?

Written and performed by Robby Romero, HEARTBEAT went into rotation on MTV Networks in 1993 introducing Native Rock Music to the music television generation.

HEARTBEAT was recorded, mixed, and mastered at the Complex Studios in Los Angeles. The Red Thunder lineup includes musicians Benito Concha, Mazatl Galindo, Charles Gasper, and Paul Martinez, with special appearances by Curtis Milk and Richard Moves Camp (Lakota Spiritual Leader). The music picture is produced and directed by Robby Romero and Gregory Alosio.

MAKOCE WAKAN/SACRED EARTH premiered on VH1 in 1993 with a call to action to support Native Peoples Religious Freedom and Sacred Sites. The Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993 became public law No: 103-141. In 1994 the American Indian Religious Freedom Act Amendments became Public Law NO: 103-344, providing legislative protection for spiritual and religious practices of the Native American Church.

The single and the music picture are available on our Village Market. 100% of profits support the work of Native Children’s Survival.

A Compelling contemporary pop group that refuses to betray its ethnic soul. Red Thunder’s new creation of expressive “Native Rock” symbolizes deep beliefs and passionate views.
