WHERE THUNDER FINDS HER
ABOUT
“Where Thunder Finds Her” is a song and music picture by Robby Romero with the purpose of raising awareness about the ongoing crisis of Missing and Murdered Women and Girls worldwide. This #MMIWG crisis has persisted since the arrival of Christopher Columbus.
The song’s title bears the traditional name of Savanna LaFontaine-Greywind, a Native woman whose brutal murder in August 2017 inspired the US Senate’s 2019-2020 bill, Savanna’s Act, highlighting the horrific statistics of abuse and homicide against Indigenous women and girls.

It was independence day; when Hanna Harris disappeared near Lame Deer; crimes cops downplay; until four days later when murder became clear; stolen sisters; shall not die in vain; where thunder finds her; say her name
A crime wave unfolds; suspicious deaths, suspected foul play; cases turn cold; when you're a Native statistic on a colonial crossway; with their stories untold, say her name.

In a cold shallow hole; Rose died of strangulation; her body charred like burnt coal; buried in the woods near the reservation; stolen sisters; shall not die in vain; where thunder finds her; say her name
Along the beach of Te Horo; Breanna disappears in a wave of darkness; as the search begins to narrow; off the coast of Kãpiti, drifts something evil and heartless; stolen sisters; shall not die in vain; where thunder finds her; say her name
A crime wave unfolds; suspicious death's, suspected foul play; cases turn cold; when you're a Native statistic on a colonial crossway; with their stories untold; say her name
